The Americans: Documentary.jpg

The Americans is the trailer to Hyunsoo Moon's documentary.  It tracks the journeys of a number of Storm Lake residents. 

Moon and his wife have traveled from LA to Storm Lake a number of occasions and will be returning to Storm Lake in the summer of 2021 to continue work on this documentary.

SALUD! is proud to host Moon, director and editor of Anchor Pictures  and his wife, Haejung, producer, while working on these beautiful stories of our community members.

TV journalist, Katie Couric, was in Storm Lake in September interviewing locals on immigration issues.  Couric and a crew of eight are filming interviews as part of an as-yet-unnamed six-hour series on current issues to be broadcast next spring on the National Geographic Channel.

Our very own Storm Lake Police Chief, Mark Prosser, was in Washington, DC in September for Welcoming America’s Welcoming Week!  He was a part of an expert panel, that included California State Senate President Tempore Kevin de León, to discuss state and local actions to promote public safety and increase inclusion for immigrant and refugee communities across the country!


 

In early July The Latino Commission on AIDS and the Hispanic Health Network released a national report Illuminating the Needs of the Forgotten 'Olvidados': A National Health Assessment of Hispanic/Latinos Growing Older with HIV.
